May-August ’21 Multichannel Veeva CRM Release Roundup
Eighty-seven percent (87%) of healthcare professionals report they now prefer completely virtual or hybrid (digital and in-person) interactions with sales representatives as in-person activities begin to pick up again.1
This new hybrid engagement model is pushing commercial and medical teams to rethink and optimize their working methods as they spend more time on a desktop device than before. The newest Veeva CRM innovations support you in better leveraging digital engagement capabilities and maximizing reach.
Here’s a snapshot of key releases for the second quarter of 2021:
Reinventing the Desktop Experience for Hybrid Engagement
Optimized for remote and home office users, the new Veeva CRM Desktop Experience provides a more intuitive, modern, and tailored user interface with faster access to insights and better digital engagement capabilities. That way, Veeva CRM provides the same amount of productivity regardless of the device.
Sharing CLM content using Veeva CRM Desktop
Considering the growing demands of digital engagement, having the right content readily available when engaging with HCPs is crucial. Commercial teams can now find, review, and present compliant CLM content via their desktop when meeting with accounts face-to-face or remotely via Engage, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams. Users can launch the online CLM media library via the Veeva CRM Desktop App directly from Calls in addition to Engage Meetings. All media activity is automatically tracked on the call report for a complete view of all customer interactions and superior multichannel execution.
Empowering medical and events teams with new Lightning Business Apps

Enhancing Virtual Engagement
Using virtual backgrounds when hosting Engage sessions from iPad
Interactivity is essential in remote meetings to keep connections personal and promote virtual engagement. Veeva CRM Engage Meeting and Engage for Events users can now leverage virtual backgrounds on desktops, iPads, and mobile devices for better customer experiences. On iPads, users can upload custom images as virtual backgrounds.
Sharing video content from desktop on Engage
Engage Meeting hosts using Veeva CRM Online can now share video and audio CLM content from the Veeva CRM Engage app for more interaction and flexibility.
Improved User Experience Drives Better Processes
Simplifying content management with multi-product support for CLM and Approved Email
Companies need more content than ever before to drive deeper digital engagement. Veeva Pulse data shows that 80% of virtual meetings with HCPs used CLM content compared to only 30% of in-person calls. With this release, content creators can avoid duplicating CLM and Approved Email content in Vault by assigning multiple products to their presentations (binders), slides, and email templates. Multi-product content generates in CRM as one record per assigned product resulting in a more streamlined content library that is easier to maintain.
Enhancing account management with the Stakeholder Navigator
To create and execute a successful account management strategy, key account managers (KAMs) need to understand the key stakeholders and their relationships within an account. In Lightning, users can now view the general structure and relationship between accounts in their territory to help understand the makeup of an account and know whom to target as part of the account plan.
Refreshing the Order Management UX for faster order negotiation
The updated Order Management user interface brings more efficiency to pharmacy sales to accelerate data access and entry for quicker and more accurate order capture.
